Tomcats 2015 trip to Burleigh Heads Australia: AUCKLAND TO BURLEIGH HEADS 22/07/2015

Good night in Hotel, very convenient. Wake up call at 4.45am. quick shower down to breakfast back to room grabbed our bags and over the road to check in. We had checked in on line yesterday before we left home so didn't have to arrive at check until 5.45am. Did that, went through and thought that we only had to wait an hour before take off but no there's more...We then received a text to say our flight was going to be an hour late. All we could think was if only they had let us know before we had checked out of the hotel when we could have relaxed there longer. Anyway no one told us what the problem was but in the meantime Dave had arrived to work so we managed to see him for a while which was good.

Finally an hour later in time we finally boarded still no word in what was the hold up so I asked as we approached the aircraft. We were told that they had to change aircraft through technical reasons.. and bring one in from the hangers. As the first one was loaded up from the canteen (our food) they then had to unload that and re load on the new plane.

We were finally on our way good trip had three seats to ourselves, always good.

We manged to text Ron before we left to say we were coming in late so he heard before he left to meet us so that was good.
We picked up our rental car. It was good having Ron in the car to show us the way to their apartment.

Arrived. Viv there to greet us and really good to see them both again.
Unfortunately the weather was cloudy/showery so Ron was disappointed and not looking good until next Monday but we tell them not to worry we are just happy to be here.

We settled in for a couple of hours then went walking around the local area and had some lunch.
