BURLEIGH HEADS. 28/07/215

Back home now to complete my Blog, as on our last day the SD card wouldn't read to upload my photos so doing it now.

Viv and Peter went for a walk  in the morning along the beach to the heads to go up the side of the hill to take photos. Looking North across Burleigh Beach. Surfers in the distance.

Looking South from the Burleigh Heads.

Inside the foyer.

We went along to the Surf Club to meet Marcus for lunch. The above is the outlook south from the balcony. Beautiful.

Lunch with Marcus.

After a very nice lunch walked back to the Apartment, then Pete and I thought last afternoon better get out for a drive. Drove down south to Currumbin  beach above. Great day and we are going home tomorrow. :-(

Looking down to wards the end of the beach.

Looking north across the estuary surfers in background.

Zoomed in as quite a distant shot of birds nest on a channel marker beacon. Would be warm in the cooler nights with the light on.

Over the rocks is the northern end of the beach

Above and below  saw a couple probably after their wedding wondering along the beach with their photographer.

Between the northern end of beach and the estuary.

Seemed to be a good surfing spot a few around just not in photo. Mouth of the estuary.

On our way back we went for a drive up the hill behind Burleigh township.

It is now the morning we are leaving :-(  Wednesday 29th July. Packed ready to go to the airport at  7.30am  after a great holiday with Ron and Viv. Although the weather didn't start off the best it certainly turned out well. Unfortunately the virus hit Pete and I but we still made the most of it  and had a good time.

Above and below when we got up, beautiful sunrise. Standing on their balcony.

Well back home now had a great trip home flight 30 minuets shorter than usual as we had a very strong tail wind. Excellent crew on Air New Zealand really looked after us. Row 1....Came home to showers and cold wind but the next morning sun was out and clear skies and a lot warmer.

Many thanks to you both Ron and Viv for asking us over. You have a great apartment and so handy to Damian and family just across the road.
Apart from the slight mishap of a little sickness we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and seeing where you are based over there we can now visualise  what you will be doing when we are in touch.
Looking forward to seeing you both when you get home I think it is the 1st October.

HAVE FUN

BURLEIGH HEADS 27/07/2015

Woke up to a beautiful sunny day so as we had planned this morning we all took off for a drive up to the Tamborine Mountains with Ron and Viv. PT was feeling better today so big day for him after       laying low for two days.

Looking outside our bedroom window out towards the mountains

Panorama looking over the mountains right round in front of apartment to Burleigh Heads right corner. Taken from their deck.

Taken at the top of the Tamborine Mountains

One of the towns in the Tamborine

We three had a pie for lunch.

Another lookout spot.

Steep descent coming down the mountain at 15 degrees.

When we got home decided to take off to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. This will take you back Jen with your great love of Koalas.

We didn't spend as much time as we should have but arrived later in the afternoon. Big place with all sorts of tracks and walkways to explore.

PT new girlfriend. He always finds one!!!!!!

Onto the Kangaroos enclosures. Mum with obviously a Joey in the pouch.

Feeding time. They are so tame.

Joey about to get into the pouch.

So relaxed

Feeding time

Once feeding time started the birds came in from all directions; masses of them. Landed all over the place. On your heads, arms and hands.

Went out for a Thai meal for dinner before we had to get home to see the final of the Australian Master Chef. No I won't tell anyone who won......

We had a great day. PT feeling a lot better so we were out all day. Busy busy and very enjoyable.
